Hello Again,

This is Lamar Patterson checking in again. Today is May 31 and I’m on my flight from Vegas en route to Houston to workout with the Rockets. This will be one of four workouts this week, I think. The process thus far has made me forget the days of the week and my upcoming schedule. I’m afraid to think about what I might forget two weeks from now. Maybe I will forget the names of my two little boys, which are Zaiden (6 years old) and Elijah (4 months old), or maybe even my name. I have to apologize to any of my close family and friends who have birthdays during this process – there is no chance that I’ll remember it.

Last week I spent my time in Philly, Milwaukee, OKC and Phoenix. They were all successful workouts. It’s important to show these teams what I can do on the court. It’s apparent that they are aware of my capabilities because I wouldn’t be there if they weren’t. During all of the workouts I was able to knock down shots, play-make in live team situations and defend the ball. Those three skills are going to be my key to success in the league. OKC was a special visit because I was able to catch up and talk to a former teammate of mine Steven Adams. He is closing out his rookie season on a high note. A lot of these workouts are pretty laid back. I play a little bit of 1-on-1, 3-on-3 and get some shots up in the half court. There are some teams that really test your conditioning. That’s cool with me because of all the extra cardio and conditioning I’ve been putting in. Shout out to my guys at Impact in Vegas!

When you are on the go so much, it’s important to take care of your body. After every workout I take full advantage of the facility and get in the ice bath to restore my body as much as possible. I’ve also been extra mindful of what I eat. Since I’ve been in airports and hotels so much I’ve pretty much been eating nothing but salads and fish (salmon to be specific). It can be quite tedious but when I think of how close I am to fulfilling my dream of becoming an NBA player the annoyance level is no longer a factor. This week I will touch base with Houston, San Antonio, Charlotte, and Cleveland. I will be bringing my sneaks and my A game to all of them.

I want to thank all who are following me on my journey, I appreciate all of y’all. I will continue to go hard every single day until the wheels fall off. Until then, why not leave it all on the court and get the most out of my body while I can?

Signed your next favorite NBA player (hopefully)
