NBA Draft

#27 Toronto Raptors: Pascal Siakam

With the No. 27 overall pick of the 2016 NBA Draft, the Toronto Raptors selected New Mexico State power forward Pascal Siakam continuing the theme of strengthening their frontcourt depth.

Earlier in the evening the Raptors selected center Jakob Poeltl with the No. 9 overall pick.

Siakam, a native of Cameroon, averaged 20.3 points, 11.6 rebounds and 2.2 blocks per game for the Aggies last season, his second with the team.
Heading into the draft, Siakam was projected by numerous outlets to be a mid-second round pick, but ultimately the Raptors decided to take the risk on the forward’s upside.
