It wasn’t long ago that former NBA legend Allen Iverson expressed interest in a front-office role with the Philadelphia 76ers.

Iverson, a former MVP and 11-time All-Star, led the franchise to the 2001 NBA Finals and his No. 3 jersey has been retired for life.

Brad Greenberg – a former general manager who worked for the 76ers when the Philadelphia drafted “The Answer” back in 1996 – believes Iverson could help a front office.

Greenberg, who has been coaching overseas since 2012 and won a championship in Israel in 2013, is uniquely qualified to discuss the topic given his experience with Iverson and NBA front offices.

“Allen has a unique feel for the game because of how competitive he was,” Greenberg told Basketball Insiders from Turkey, his current basketball home. “I think Allen could spot out guys who have that same fire, but I don’t know what his familiarity is with analytics and that seems to carry some weight in the NBA.

“I read something about Allen and a front-office position in Philadelphia. I’m sure he’d love to be part of the team again. His heart is in Philadelphia as a Sixer more than any other place on the planet. I’m sure he’d love to be connected with the team again.

“I don’t know if the club feels the same way or not, but I’d love to see Allen have success. He’s a Hall of Fame guy and one of the best ever at his position.”
