Warriors forward Harrison Barnes was diagnosed with a bone bruise Wednesday after undergoing an MRI exam and remains day to day. Barnes did not participate in the open practice at Oracle Arena the day after suffering the injury in the second quarter of Tuesday’s preseason loss to the Denver Nuggets.
Barnes is in the middle of a contract extension negotiation period with the Warriors, but general manager Bob Myers didn’t expect the injury to be a factor in talks. The deadline for Barnes to sign an extension or become a restricted free agent next summer was recently moved to Nov. 2.
