Myles Turner chose Texas over Duke, Kansas and dozens of other suitors, joining a team that returns all five starters and won 24 games last season.

Turner, an athletic 7-footer known for his defense and soft touch from the perimeter, idolized Kevin Durant as a prep in the Longhorn State. A late visit with Bill Self and Kansas caused some consternation around the Texas program, but Turner announced his decision Wednesday by donning the UT colors.

Turner is a late-rising prospect who had only one scholarship offer in hand as a sophomore — from Baylor.

Small forward Jordan Barnett, ranked as a top-100 player by most recruiting services, joins Turner in a top 20 recruiting class.

—Pittsburgh Panthers backup center Derrick Randall was suspended indefinitely after he was arrested on suspicion of DWI, the school announced.

Randall was also charged with use of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of a controlled dangerous substance, according to the Bergen Record. He was arrested on the Rutgers University campus at 2:45 a.m. Tuesday when he was pulled over for driving without headlights on.

Randall transferred from Rutgers in 2013 after video surfaced of then-coach Mike Rice shoving and berating his players during practice. Randall filed a lawsuit against Rutgers in December regarding the way that he was treated during his time at the school.

Randall has one year of eligibility remaining. He averaged 2.1 points, 2.4 rebounds and 8.6 minutes in 36 games last season.
