Doctors have cleared Isaiah Austin to play basketball again after he was diagnosed with Marfan syndrome after entering the 2014 NBA Draft. He has been working out in hopes of joining an NBA team, he told Cassy Athena in a video interview.
Afterward, he posted the news Instagram: “Very excited to announce to everyone that the news is true. I have been blessed by the grace of God to receive a second chance at chasing my dream of playing basketball. Everything happens for a reason and I’m ready to share my testimony and journey with millions of people across the world.”
Austin played two seasons at Baylor, where he averaged 11.2 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 3.1 blocks in 28 minutes per game as a sophomore. He is 23 years old.
76ers Considered Trading Markelle Fultz To Move Up In Draft
The Philadelphia 76ers had internal discussions about packaging the No. 10 and 26 picks, along with former No. 1 overall pick Markelle Fultz, to move into the top five, league sources told The Athletic.
The target was Porter during these discussions. However, that thinking dampened with Porter’s back remaining a major question mark. If JJ Redick leaves in free agency, Fultz is the favorite to start at shooting guard.

Karl-Anthony Towns Has Not Asked For A Trade
According to several people familiar with the situation, there has not been an impasse between the two. Towns has not asked for a trade and the Wolves are not considering trading him. As contract extension talks kick off for Towns this summer, the communication only figures to increase.
