The numbers set apart by two commas are of no consequence to Nuggets forward Kenneth Faried. Only the numbers on a stat sheet matter to him, he said.
He is richer now — much richer after agreeing to a contract extension that will pay him up to $52 million over four years, provided he hits all his incentives.
Asked if he felt pressure to live up to the big contract, Faried grinned.
“No, I really don’t care,” he said. “There’s no pressure. It’s just money. It’s not a big deal. I love the game, so I’m going to continue to play the game like I’ve been playing.”

For the second consecutive game, the coach opposing the Houston Rockets finished the night with an epic rant against the officials. This time, it was New Orleans’ Alvin Gentry, who fired off against the referees following the Pelicans’ 107-101 home defeat.
“The thing that bothers me more than anything, and I really don’t care, we try to play the right way, and we play our asses off,” Gentry said. “All we want is an equal opportunity to win the game. Not have a situation where we are guessing on the biggest play of the game, where they call a 3-point foul from the corner.
