Florida suspends second-leading scorer
Florida junior forward Dorian Finney-Smith was suspended indefinitely for violating team rules before the Gators’ home game against Vanderbilt on Wednesday night, according to reports.
Finney-Smith also was suspended at the start of last season before he was reinstated three games into the schedule and finished as the SEC Sixth Man of the Year in 2013-14.
This season, the 6-foot-8 Finney-Smith is the Gators’ second-leading scorer at 12.9 points per game. He also averages a team-high 5.8 rebounds per game.
Florida (12-13, 5-7 SEC) had lost six of its past nine games before facing Vanderbilt (14-11, 4-8). Vanderbilt beat Florida 67-61 in the first meeting between the teams this season on Feb. 3.
