Shooting guard Wayne Selden will stay at Kansas for his sophomore season, he announced Tuesday on Twitter.

“Want to let Jayhawk Nation know, I will be returning for my sophomore season!” Selden wrote. “Can’t wait to get to work (and) get back in the fieldhouse.”

The 6-foot-5 Selden, a highly recruited scoring guard, finished his freshman season averaging 9.7 points. He struggled in the NCAA Tournament, making only 1 of 10 shots from the field in two games. Kansas was ousted in the second round by Stanford in a 60-57 loss.

According to 2014 NBA Draft projections, Selden could be a late first-round or early second-round pick.

The Jayhawks are expected to lose freshmen Andrew Wiggins and Joel Embiid to the NBA. Both could go as high as 1-2 in the June draft.
