George Karl Interested in Lakers; Expects Call

“I’m respecting that when the process occurs, (Lakers GM) Mitch (Kupchak) will probably give me a phone conversation along the way,” (George) Karl said. “I do want to get back in the gym. But in the same sense, I have a lot of – what’s the best phrase – I have a lot of respect for the game and I have a lot of respect for the job, it’s a difficult job. And whatever Mitch is thinking or whatever Jim Buss is thinking or whatever Golden State is thinking or whatever Detroit is thinking…whatever Phil [Jackson] is thinking in New York, I let the process happen. I would love the opportunity to probably talk to people when they think I’m a person they should be talking to.”
