James Madison scored seven of the game’s final nine points, and the Dukes emerged with a 51-46 win over Richmond on Sunday in Harrisburg, Va.

Spiders guard ShawnDre’ Jones hit a 3-pointer with just over four minutes remaining, tying the score 44-44. The Dukes took control from there.

Forward Yohanny Dalembert’s layup with 2:30 to play put James Madison back on top. Neither team scored again until Dukes guard Andre Nation sank a shot with 39 seconds to play.

Forward Trey Davis’ two foul shots cut Richmond’s deficit to 48-46 with 20 seconds left, but the Dukes made three of four free throws in the final seconds to seal the win.

Forward Hari Hall paced the Dukes (6-2) with 12 points. Dalembert added 10 points, and guard Jackson Kent contributed nine points and 10 rebounds.

Richmond (3-4) got a game-high 16 points from forward Kendall Anthony. Jones scored nine points.

The Dukes outrebounded the Spiders 39-27. Neither team shot effectively from the floor, with James Madison finishing at 38.6 percent and Richmond at 36.4 percent.

Richmond returns home to play Howard on Saturday. James Madison plays at East Carolina on Saturday.
