Rodney Hood stepped into the Utah Jazz starting lineup when Alec Burks suffered a season-ending shoulder injury, and now Hood will be sidelined for a few weeks with a recurrence of a foot injury.

Hood, a rookie, left in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s game against Spurs with the injury.

An MRI exam showed a recurrence of the inflammation that had bothered Hood earlier in the season. The team said Hood’s left foot will be placed in a boot, and he will remain sidelined until after the All-Star Game, which is scheduled for Feb. 15. At that point, Hood’s status will be re-evaluated.

The Jazz have 12 games before the All-Star break.

Hood is averaging 10.4 points and 4.9 rebounds in 24 games this season, including five starts
