Wall on Public Perception: ‘They still don’t respect me’

“They still don’t respect me,” (John) Wall said when we sat down and I asked about his reputation nationally. “But I mean, that’s something that comes with the games. I’m gonna let people know this season.” Wall speaks in a perpetual fast break, but there’s a pause here.

“And I don’t know,” he adds. “You know what I mean? You have career years, when you’re winning games, you start an All-Star Game, and you’re still not put on the top three All-NBA teams. That lets you know. But all I can do is control what John Wall does. Going out there and leading my team. You’re not getting any recognition as a point guard if you ain’t winning.”

Karl-Anthony Towns Has Not Asked For A Trade

[Tom] Thibodeau and [Karl-Anthony] Towns have spoken on the phone this offseason, league sources told The Athletic, and there is expected to be more substantive dialogue in the coming weeks when Towns returns from his travels.

According to several people familiar with the situation, there has not been an impasse between the two. Towns has not asked for a trade and the Wolves are not considering trading him. As contract extension talks kick off for Towns this summer, the communication only figures to increase.

The Bucks are pursuing trades using the no. 17 pick to dump point guard Matthew Dellavedova, who has two years and $19.2 million remaining on his contract.

Milwaukee, however, is only looking to trade down in the draft, not to use a deal as an outright salary dump.
