Josh Smith swears the head-up competition for the last playoff spot in the East between the Detroit Pistons and his former team, the Atlanta Hawks, doesn’t make it more personal. Smith said extending his streak of six playoff seasons, all with the Hawks, is personal enough.
“I just want to make the playoffs. I’m not paying attention on me trying to get in over them,” Smith said, referring to the Hawks, the hometown team with which he spent his first nine seasons. “I just want to be able to win games and be able to give ourselves the opportunity to make the postseason.
