Kentucky remains No. 1 in AP poll
Kentucky remained No. 1 in the first Associated Press regular-season men’s basketball poll despite struggling for a half against Buffalo.
The Wildcats (2-0) received 49 first-place votes from the 64-member national media panel in the AP poll released Monday. Kentucky trailed Buffalo at halftime of a home game Sunday, but the Wildcats still won by 19 points, 71-52. Kentucky opened the season by routing Grand Canyon.
Arizona was No. 2 and had four first-place votes, with No. 3 Wisconsin receiving seven and No. 4 Duke four.
The rest of the top 10 were Kansas at No. 5, followed by North Carolina, Louisville, Florida, Virginia and Texas.
