In the fallout from the firing of coach Steve Donahue and the hiring Jim Christian, Boston College is losing second-leading scorer and top rebounder from this past season.

Forward Ryan Anderson announced Monday night on Twitter that he will leave the program. The 6-foot-9 California native averaged 14.3 points and 7.3 rebounds per game for the Eagles in 2013-14.

“I have decided to transfer from BC. Thank you to everyone who has supported me over the last three years. Proud I was able to be an Eagle,” Anderson tweeted.

Anderson will have one season of eligibility remaining after sitting out next season. ESPN reported that Anderson plans to have shoulder surgery.

The Eagles struggled to a 8-24 overall record and 4-14 mark in the Atlantic Coast Conference last season. Donahue was let go on March 18 after four years and Christian was hired away from Ohio University last week.

The Boston Globe reported that several other Boston College players may decide to leave the program.
