Sacramento Kings center DeMarcus Cousins has been diagnosed with viral meningitis, according to team physicians with Kaiser Permanente Sacramento, the Kings announced Sunday.

Cousins’ symptoms are stable and a full recovery is expected, but further tests will be performed before Cousins returns to action.

His basketball-related activities will resume when his health allows.

Cousins is not expected to be in uniform for this week’s games, although the team did not provide a specific timetable for Cousins’ return.

USA Today reported Cousins is expected to be sidelined for another seven to 10 days. He has already missed five games with the illness.

Cousins is averaging 23.5 points and 12.6 rebounds in the 15 games he has played this season.
