The La Salle Explorers continue to flourish on the road this season after picking up an 83-74 victory over Hofstra on Tuesday at the Mack Sports Complex in Hempstead, N.Y.

La Salle is now 4-0 in true road games, with three of those wins in December.

With the score tied 8-8, the Explorers went on a 7-0 run and remained ahead for the duration of the game. La Salle (7-5) made seven of its first 10 shots and finished shooting 58.6 percent from the floor (34 of 58).

Eight of La Salle’s first 13 points came from sophomore guard Jordan Price, who finished with a game-high 28 points on 10-of-17 shooting from the field.

Conversely, the Pride had a sluggish start shooting the ball, making just five of their first 17.

A 9-0 run in the early part of the second half allowed Hofstra (7-4) to trim its deficit to 50-49 before La Salle senior forward Jerell Wright scored three straight buckets to extend the lead back to seven points.

In addition to Price’s performance, the Explorers got a double-double from Wright (13 points, 10 rebounds). Sophomore guard Cleon Roberts finished with 18 points on 6-of-10 shooting from the floor and senior center Steve Zack had eight points and a game-high 11 rebounds.

Junior guard Ameen Tanksley led Hofstra with 23 points on 10-of-16 shooting from the field. Also contributing were junior guard Juan’ya Green with a double-double of 15 points and a game-high 11 assists and junior forward Malik Nichols with nine points and nine boards.

Hofstra has two games remaining before the start of CAA play, with the first of those on Dec. 28 against LIU-Brooklyn at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
