LeBron James: Another MVP Not High on List
An 11-game stretch of 30-point games has (Kevin) Durant atop the MVP ballots, a sign that he has closed the gap between No. 1 and No. 2.
(LeBron) James spent Tuesday downplaying the matchup. He offered nothing but praise for Durant but refused to make a postseason award the focal point of the game. With plenty of hardware in his trophy case, James would rather collect another title in June.
“It doesn’t rank too much,” James said. “It’s a good accomplishment. I thank my teammates every time I get an opportunity to be a part of that. Like I’ve said, I love being the MVP of our team.”
