Dallas Mavericks guard Raymond Felton could miss several weeks with a high right ankle sprain.

Felton was injured during Friday’s preseason game against the Oklahoma City Thunder when he landed on the foot of Thunder forward Anthony Morrow while driving to the basket.

Morrow left the game on crutches and a protective boot on his right foot.

Coach Rick Carlisle said the team will update Felton’s status in 10 days. High ankle sprains can take up to six weeks to heal.

The Mavericks acquired Felton in a trade with the New York Knicks in June. He must serve a four-game suspension when the regular season starts because of his guilty plea on gun charges last season.
