MILWAUKEE – Guard Nik Stauskas sank three 3-pointers and surpassed the 1,000-point threshold for his career to lead No. 2-seeded Michigan in a 57-40 victory over No. 15 seed Wofford Thursday in a second-round Midwest Regional NCAA tournament game at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.

Stauskas led Michigan with 15 points.

Forward Glenn Robinson III added 14 points and forward Jordan Morgan had 10 for the Wolverines, who advance to meet the winner of No. 7 Texas and No. 10 Arizona State on Saturday.

Wofford got 17 points from guard Karl Cochran, who also hit the Terriers’ only 3-pointer.

Cochran went 1-for-10 on 3-pointers while the rest of the team combined to go 0-for-16 from beyond the arc and shot just 34 percent (18-for-53) for the game.

Wofford came up empty on all eight 3-point attempts and was just 9-for-21 from the field in the first half.

Michigan connected on 63 percent of its shots from the floor and went into halftime up 34-20 behind 11 points from Robinson.
