NBA game roundup: Bryant, Lakers down Hawks

ATLANTA — Kobe Bryant reached a career milestone and helped the Los Angeles Lakers win for only the second time this season.

Bryant scored 28 points, surpassing 32,000 for his career, and led the Lakers to a 114-109 win over the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday at Philips Arena.

Bryant joined Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Karl Malone and Michael Jordan as the only four players to reach 32,000 points in their career. Bryant needs 291 more points to catch Jordan (32,292).

Bryant scored nine in the fourth quarter, including a vintage fade-away jumper, followed by a free throw that put the Lakers up six with one minute left.

Bucks 117, Knicks 113

MILWAUKEE — Jerryd Bayless made five of six foul shots in the final minute, and Ersan Ilyasova scored 20 points as Milwaukee held off a furious comeback attempt by New York.

Ilyasova scored 11 of his points in the final quarter. New York got 26 points from Carmelo Anthony and 24 from Tim Hardaway Jr.

Milwaukee led by as many as 26 in the second half and scored the first seven points of the final quarter to take a 102-84 lead before the Knicks rallied.

Jazz 98, Thunder 81

SALT LAKE CITY — Alec Burks scored 20 points and collected a career-high 14 rebounds, and Enes Kanter chipped in 16 points and 15 boards to help Utah rally for a victory over Oklahoma City.

Trey Burke added 17 points and nine assists, helping the Jazz rally from a 17-point, second-quarter deficit. The Jazz shot 51.1 percent from the field (23-of-45) in the second half after struggling to find any sort of offensive rhythm for much of the first half.

Guard Jeremy Lamb had 19 points to lead the Thunder, who lost for the sixth time in seven road games this season. Oklahoma City had six players sit out because of injuries.

Pelicans 106, Kings 100

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Anthony Davis scored 27 points, the first Kings opponent to reach that total this season, and New Orleans rode a big second half to a victory over Sacramento.

Ryan Anderson added 22 points for the Pelicans, who won despite playing without forward Omer Asik (lower back stiffness) for the second straight night.

Center DeMarcus Cousins led Sacramento with 24 points and 17 rebounds, but the Kings lost for the fourth time in five games. Sacramento was seeking its first four-game home winning streak since Decemeber 2012.
