NEW ORLEANS — Guard Stephen Curry scored a team-high 34 points, including eight in overtime, and Klay Thompson added 29 to lift the Golden State Warriors a 128-122 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans and extend their franchise-record winning streak to 16 games on Sunday night.

The Warriors (21-2) are off to the third-best start in NBA history, but this one was a struggle on the second game of a back-to-back.

After regulation ended 111-111, the Warriors outscored the Pelicans 17-11 in the extra period, and Curry was nearly perfect, making three consecutive shots, including two 3-pointers, in the eight-point flurry. His 3-pointer from the left wing with 2:35 left in overtime gave Golden State a 123-114 lead.

The Warriors have not lost since Nov. 11, a 113-100 defeat to the defending NBA champion San Antonio Spurs.

New Orleans played without All-Star forward Anthony Davis, who bruised his chest in a Friday night victory over Cleveland. The Pelicans were led by forward Tyreke Evans’ season-high 34 points and guard Jrue Holiday’s 27.

Raptors 95, Knicks 90 (OT)

NEW YORK — Forward Patrick Patterson and point guard Kyle Lowry hit clutch shots in the early stages of overtime and Toronto pulled out a victory over New York at Madison Square Garden.

Guard Terrence Ross led the Raptors with a season-high 22 points with 13 coming during the third quarter when they rallied from a six-point deficit and took a 72-67 lead entering the fourth. Lowry finished with 21 points, reserve Lou Williams added 15 and Patterson added 13 for the Raptors, who were getting loud cheers from fans who made the trip by the end of the game.

New York’s Carmelo Anthony scored 34 points but was 0-for-3 and was forced into an offensive foul by Patterson in the extra session. Guard Tim Hardaway Jr. started in place of J.R. Smith (left foot) and added 18 points but shot 4-of-14.

Lakers 100, Timberwolves 94

MINNEAPOLIS — On the night he surpassed Michael Jordan for third on the NBA’s all-time scoring list, Los Angeles guard Kobe Bryant put up a team-high 26 points in his team’s win over Minnesota.

Bryant overtook the Chicago Bulls legend with a free throw in the second quarter. Bryant (32,310) now sits behind only Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (38,387) and Karl Malone (36,928) in career points.

Lakers forward Carlos Boozer scored 12 of his 22 points in the fourth quarter, which proved key to helping keep Minnesota at bay late in the game. Boozer added 13 rebounds to notch his fourth double-double of the season.

Minnesota forward Shabazz Muhammad came off the bench to tie his career high with 28 points, his third 20-point performance in his past six games. Rookie forward Andrew Wiggins finished with 16 points, shooting 4-for-12 from the floor but hitting all eight of his free throws.

Bulls 93, Heat 75

MIAMI — Chicago, with the best road record in the Eastern Conference, easily defeated Miami.

Small forward Mike Dunleavy scored all 22 of his points in the second half to lead the Bulls. His only better scoring game this season came on Nov. 7 against Philadelphia (27 points).

The Bulls are 11-3 on the road, including four straight wins. They are also 8-0 on the road against Eastern Conference teams. Chicago, the most improved offensive team in the NBA so far this season, had its streak of 100-point games snapped at eight.

The Heat were without forward Chris Bosh, who missed his first game of the season with a calf injury. Guard Dwyane Wade had an off night, scoring just 10 points through three quarters — on 4-of-13 shooting — when the game was decided. He finished with 17 points.

Wizards 93, Jazz 84

WASHINGTON — Guard Bradley Beal scored 22 points and fueled a second-half surge along with backcourt partner John Wall as Washington took control in the second half for a victory over Utah.

Wall had 16 points, eight assists, six rebounds, five steals and three blocks for the Wizards, who outscored the Jazz 30-16 in the third quarter after trailing 42-37 at halftime. Forward Paul Pierce had 15 points.

The Wizards have won eight of nine games overall and seven straight at home.

Thunder 112, Suns 88

OKLAHOMA CITY — Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant combined for 51 points and 16 rebounds to lead Oklahoma City to a win over Phoenix at the Chesapeake Energy Arena.

Westbrook led all scorers with 28 points to go along with eight rebounds and eight assists in only 26 minutes of work. Durant added 23 points on 8-of-13 shooting. Forward Serge Ibaka added 12 points.

Guard Gerald Green paced the Suns with 15 points on 5-for-13 shooting. Guard Eric Bledsoe was held to 12 points and four assists.

Spurs 99, Nuggets 91

DENVER — Forward Kawhi Leonard scored 18 points and added six blocked shots and five steals, and San Antonio beat Denver.

Forward Tim Duncan had 15 points and nine rebounds for the Spurs, who held off a late Denver rally for the win.

Guard Ty Lawson committed four turnovers in one of his poorest games in a while. He had six points and 10 assists despite suffering a laceration over his left eye when he collided with Spurs guard Manu Ginobili in the second quarter. Guard Arron Afflalo led Denver with a season-high 31 points but had a game-high six turnovers. Center Timofey Mozgov had 11 points and 13 rebounds for the Nuggets.
