It seems like the 2014-15 NBA season just began yesterday, but already 15 weeks have come and gone.

Having all but arrived at the “half point” of the season, from here, it is all about the trade deadline. We’ve already seen many trades, and some fringe contenders will likely try to make a move or two of their own before Feb. 19 to give themselves a real shot at a championship run.

As we approach the break, our sights are set firmly on the Oklahoma City Thunder and Cleveland Cavaliers. At various points throughout the course of the season, each team has experienced some plight and their place among their conference’s contenders has been questioned.

That was then, this is now.

Heading into the break, the Thunder are storming and the Cavaliers are climbing. Along with the Atlanta Hawks and Golden State Warriors, their potential excites us.

League action resumes on Thursday, February 19, which happens to be the day that the trade deadline falls, while most teams will resume action on Friday, February 20.

Enes Kanter, Reggie Jackson, David West, Wilson Chandler and Arron Afflalo are among the players whose names have been mentioned as potentially being on the move. The next time you hear from us, they may have switched teams and could shift the pendulum one way or another.
