After 11 weeks of competition, we are beginning to see some consistency across the NBA. The contenders are separating themselves from the pretenders and things are becoming a bit more focused.

Traditionally, at this time of year, teams begin to make decisions about their immediate future. Some, such as the New York Knicks and Boston Celtics, decide to pull the plug. Others, like the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Memphis Grizzlies, decide to go for it.

Between now and the February 19 trade deadline, a number of players will certainly change addresses.

Will a new addition be coming to your favorite team? We would say “probably not,” if you happen to be a fan of the Atlanta Hawks or the Golden State Warriors, because when things aren’t broken, we tend to leave them alone. The Hawks end Week 11 of competition with the longest current win-streak in the Association at 10 games.

Meanwhile, in Cleveland, the Cavaliers welcome back LeBron James but, at this point, are still just dreaming of putting together a streak like that, as they end Week 11 with a season-high six-game losing streak.

Maybe David Blatt was correct? Maybe Kevin Love isn’t a max player, after all?

(Just kidding)

But here is no laughing matter: Week 11 is in the books, and the Oklahoma City Thunder are still on the outside of the playoff picture looking in while the Detroit Pistons are closing the gap on the suddenly for sale Brooklyn Nets.
