NBA roundup: Kings deal Terry to Rockets

The Sacramento Kings traded 15-year veteran guard Jason Terry to the Houston Rockets for guard-forward Alonzo Gee, guard Scotty Hopson and two second-round draft picks on Wednesday.

Terry, a 15-year NBA veteran, has averaged of 15.4 points, 2.6 rebounds and 4.4 assists in 1,136 NBA games, shooting 44.6 percent from the field, 37.9 percent from three-point range and 84.6 percent from the free throw line. He missed the last 28 games last season because of a left knee injury.

Gee, who played four seasons with the Cleveland Cavaliers (2010-11 – 2013-14) following stints in Washington, Toronto and San Antonio, has averaged 7.9 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.2 assists in his career.

Hopson, who was undrafted out of Tennessee, appeared in two games for Cleveland last season before being traded to the Rockets during the offseason.

—Denver Nuggets forward J.J. Hickson was suspended five games by the league on Wednesday for violating the terms of the NBA/NBPA Anti-Drug Program.

Hickson will begin his suspension without pay when 2014-15 regular season begins.

Hickson averaged 11.8 points and 9.2 rebounds last season.

—The Minnesota Timberwolves signed second-round draft pick Glenn Robinson III on Wednesday.

Robinson, a 6-foot-6 forward from Michigan, was selected 40th overall in this year’s draft. He played for the Wolves entry in the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, averaging 7.7 points and 3.0 rebounds per game in six games (four starts).

Robinson the son of former NBA forward Glenn Robinson Jr., who was the first overall pick in the 1994 draft by the Milwaukee Bucks.
