The Nets stopped the Raptors 94-87 Saturday, taking a 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Game 2 is Tuesday in Toronto. Pierce finished with 15 points, but more than the total, it was the when and how — when the Nets needed points and ran plays that got him the ball.
“I’ve been in those situations a number, number of times,” Pierce, 36, said. “I don’t get rattled in the fourth quarter down the stretch of playoff settings. I’ve been in pretty much every playoff situation that you can imagine. I just try to stay calm and bring my calmness to the game. I think it’s more gratifying than at home. I love those moments.”
Sources: Kyrie Irving Getting Second Opinion on Left Knee
My understanding is that Kyrie Irving is getting a 2nd opinion on his left knee, perhaps as soon as tomorrow. Bottom line: he needs the screws out. Knee is flaring up. He will either play thru it going forward or … he will get thee screws out and won’t play at all. Stay tuned.

Texas freshman Mohamed Bamba announced Tuesday that he will enter the 2018 NBA draft.
“After an incredibly rewarding year at the University of Texas, I will not be returning to school as I will be entering the NBA draft,” Bamba said in a statement.
Bamba, a 7-foot center with a 7-foot-9 wingspan, was one of the top freshmen in college basketball this season. He averaged 12.9 points and 10.5 rebounds while ranking second nationally in blocks at 3.7 per game.
