Detroit forward Blake Griffin was a late scratch for the Pistons’ 103-92 win over the Washington Wizards Thursday with an ankle contusion.
The announcement was made about a half-hour before the Pistons moved within 4½ games of the Milwaukee Bucks for the last Eastern Conference playoff spot. Griffin got an MRI on his ankle on Thursday, with results expected back Friday.
