Brandon Jennings is making steady progress in his comeback from a ruptured left Achilles.
Pistons coach Stan Van Gundy said after practice Saturday that the point guard, who suffered the season-ending injury in late January, is “doing about everything.”
He’s shooting the step-back jumper. He’s making moves into shots. He’s running well and he can back-pedal. He hasn’t done any work against competition and Van Gundy wants to see him in defensive drills.
Jennings gave a 6-to-9 month timetable at the time of his injury. He will miss that deadline, but Van Gundy thinks a return around Christmas is reasonable.
