Pistons’ Owner on Moving Team to City: ‘It’s time’

Pistons owner Tom Gores said Tuesday that the time is right for his NBA team to move out of its suburban home and into the city to share Little Caesars Arena with the Red Wings.

“This is great for the Detroit Pistons. It is the right call. It’s time for us to do it,” Gores said. “It is an incredible arena.”

Golden State Warriors forward Kevin Durant, who sat out Sunday night’s 118-111 win over the Brooklyn Nets with a left ankle sprain, told ESPN’s Chris Haynes that he’s “not sure” whether he’ll be able to play Wednesday at Oklahoma City.

“I’m just going to take it day by day and see how it progresses,” Durant said before the game.

Two-time All-Star David Lee announced his retirement from the NBA on Sunday via Instagram.

Lee, 34, played for 12 years, finishing last season with the Spurs. He averaged 7.3 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 79 games for San Antonio.

Isaiah Thomas on Rehab Drill: ‘Hardest I’ve Run’

Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Isaiah Thomas participated in full-court five-on-zero offensive drills Sunday, marking the first time he has practiced with his teammates in that manner since he was acquired from the Boston Celtics in a trade involving Kyrie Irving in August.

Thomas, who is still recovering from a torn labrum in his right hip, told Cleveland.com that Sunday was the “hardest I’ve run” during the rehabilitation process and he “felt good for the most part” afterward.
