Report: Two Indiana players suspended
Indiana University basketball players Troy Williams and Stanford Robinson were suspended for failing drug tests, ESPN.com reported Monday.
Hoosiers coach Tom Crean said on his radio show Monday night that Williams and Robinson will sit out four games each.
Crean added that freshman Emmitt Holt also would be suspended four games. Holt allegedly drove the car that ran into Indiana forward Devin Davis, putting Davis in the hospital.
“We also had a couple of other bad choices made this summer. We’re not a program that waits for this or that,” Crean said on his radio show, according to ESPN.com. “They made those bad choices. The rules say they sit a certain amount. Well, I say they sit more. Stanford Robinson and Troy Williams, they’re also going to sit for four games.”
Williams, a forward, started all 32 games last season, averaging 7.3 points per game. He is expected to play a bigger role this season with the departure of Noah Vonleh and Will Sheehey.
Robinson started nine games last season and averaged 6.4 points.
