Reports: 76ers trade C Hawes to Cavaliers
The Philadelphia 76ers traded center Spencer Hawes to the Cleveland Cavaliers for two second-round draft picks on Thursday, according to multiple reports.
Yahoo! Sports first reported the move and the Philadelphia Daily News and ESPN.com confirmed.
Sam Amico of Fox Sports tweeted that the deal will also include Cleveland forward Earl Clark heading to Philadelphia.
Hawes, in his fourth season with the Sixers, is averaging a career-best 13 points and 8.5 rebounds.
Hawes, 25, is in the final year of a contract that pays him $6.6 million this season.
The Cavaliers, who are three games out of the last playoff spot in the Eastern Conference, traded for Hawes In an effort to add depth to their front line.
The 76ers have been trading for draft picks and prospects since last summer as part of a long-term rebuilding project.
