Houston Rockets General Manager Daryl Morey announced today that the team has acquired Jason Terry from the Sacramento Kings. In addition to the veteran guard, the Rockets will acquire Sacramento’s 2015 2nd round pick if it falls between 31 and 49, and New York’s 2016 unprotected 2nd round pick. In exchange, the Rockets will send forward Alonzo Gee and guard Scotty Hopson to the Kings.

Terry (6-2 176, Arizona), ranks 2nd in the NBA in three point field goals made among all active players with 1,950 three-pointers. Terry spent the beginning of last season with the Brooklyn Nets before being traded to the Sacramento Kings. The 15-year shooting guard holds career averages of 15.4 points per game in 32.5 minutes.  Terry holds a career three-point field goal percentage of 37.9% and free-throw percentage of 84.6%. The Arizona product will be the most veteran member of the roster and adds 93 games of playoff experience to the Rockets, including an NBA championship.

Gee (6-6, 225, Alabama) and Hopson (6-7, 204, Tennessee) were acquired along with Trevor Ariza in a three-team trade with Washington and New Orleans this offseason.
