Since his hiring on August 14th, 2013, Brett Brown, as much as anyone else, has represented the face of the Philadelphia 76ers franchise. Dedicating himself to the development of a promising, but young, core of players, the 54-year maintained a resiliently optimistic outlook over the first 187 games of his tenure as the Sixers’ head coach, doing so while remaining focused on building and positioning the organization for lasting, long-term success.

On Friday, December 11th, Brown’s efforts were rewarded. President of Basketball Operations and General Manager Sam Hinkie announced, in conjunction with the Sixers’ ownership group, that Brown and the club had agreed in principle on a contract extension. The terms of the arrangement were not disclosed.
