The other day, (76ers Coach) Brett Brown didn’t need prodding when he issued his players a tremendous compliment. He didn’t need a winning streak, or an impressive individual performance, or in-house turmoil, either.

When the 76ers coach went on and on — about the coachable nature of his players, about how much pleasure he takes in his job — Brown seemed as genuine as ever.

Without reflection, he’s referred to his group as “great.” Glowingly, he’s confirmed that “I knew what I signed on for.” Without affectation, he’s used the term “love” in reference to his job.
