First-round draft picks are expected to have an impact as rookies in the NBA, but the Phoenix Suns sent two of them down to the Developmental League on Thursday.

The Suns announced they assigned point guard Tyler Ennis, the 14th overall pick in this year’s draft, and forward T.J. Warren, the 18th overall selection in that draft, to the Bakersfield Jam of the NBA’s D-League.

Ennis, who played his college ball at Syracuse, played in two games with the Suns this season, totaling two points and three assists in 18 minutes.

Warren, who played at North Carolina State, played in just one game for the Suns, going scoreless in his one minute of action. A broken thumb suffered last month kept Warren out of action for more than two weeks.
