Tennessee is targeting Louisiana Tech’s Michael White to replace Cuonzo Martin as head coach.

ESPN.com reported Sunday that White is the choice of Volunteers athletic director Dave Hart.

White, 37, is 74-31 over three seasons as the Bulldogs’ coach.

CBSSports.com first reported that Tennessee is focused on White to replace Martin, who took the coaching job at California.

However, ESPN.com also reported that White is still considering his options.

In White’s first two seasons as Louisiana Tech’s coach, the Bulldogs won a share of the regular-season title in both the WAC and Conference USA.

If White takes the Tennessee job, he will inherit a team that advanced to the regional semifinals of the NCAA Tournament, but is losing its top three players — Jordan McRae, Jarnell Stokes and Jeronne Maymon. Prior to that, the Volunteers went to the NIT in consecutive years under Martin.

White played collegiately at Ole Miss and was an assistant coach with the Rebels.
