Thunder’s Brooks Says ‘Individual Pride’ Lacking
Following a disappointing 112-104 loss to the talented Pelicans – OKC’s eighth defeat in nine road games – the Thunder slipped to 5-13 on the season, 5.5 games out of the eighth spot and 10.5 back of the West’s top seed.
And this latest setback can be blamed on the defense.
“It’s not about Kevin’s (Durant) return, it’s not about Russell’s (Westbrook) return,” a frustrated Scott Brooks said postgame. “It’s about how we play and we didn’t play the right way defensively.”
“It’s all about individual pride,” Brooks said. “You got to man-up and guard your man. Then the help has to be there immediately. We didn’t do either of those two things.”
