Minnesota Timberwolves forward Shabazz Muhammad will undergo season-ending surgery to repair a ruptured finger ligament, the team announced Saturday.

The surgery on his left middle finger will be performed Monday at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., the team said.

Muhammad suffered the injury Wednesday in practice but played Friday in Minnesota’s 110-107 victory over the Phoenix Suns.

Muhammad is averaging 13.5 points and 4.1 rebounds per game this season.
