Tobias Harris Leans Up to Improve Overall Game
(Orlando Magic) Tobias Harris significantly altered his eating habits during the summer in an effort to raise his energy level on the defensive end of the floor.
“It helped me lose a lot of body fat,” Harris said. “It makes me a quicker player. I feel more explosive. I feel better. I feel real healthy.”
Harris, a 6-foot-9 combo forward, never seemed out of shape or too heavy last season or the year before that. But one of the deficiencies of his game has been his defense. He can get overpowered when he faces physical power forwards, and at times he has had trouble keeping up with speedy small forwards.
He said he’s at the same weight he was last season, 235 pounds, but he said he’s leaner.
