The Portland Trail Blazers exercised their fourth-year option on the contract of guard Damian Lillard, the team announced Monday.

In his first two seasons, Lillard has averaged 19.9 points, 3.3 rebounds, 6.0 assists per game.

Lillard’s production puts him in select NBA company. Only four players in history — Oscar Robertson, Tiny Archibald, Allen Iverson and LeBron James — have more points (3,257) and assists (988) in their first two seasons.

Lillard’s 403 3-pointers through his first two seasons are the most in league history.

Last season, Lillard averaged a career-high 20.7 points to go along with 3.5 rebounds and 5.6 assists in 35.8 minutes per game. In addition to being named to the Western Conference All-Star Team, the second-year pro was also selected Third Team All-NBA.
