Brendan Malone, Bob Beyer and Charles Klask were named assistant coaches of the Detroit Pistons, head coach and president of basketball operations Stan Van Gundy announced Friday.

Malone returns to Detroit, where he served as an assistant coach to late Pistons coach Chuck Daly from 1988-92, which included back-to-back NBA titles in 1989 and 1990.

Van Gundy, who was hired two weeks ago and agreed to a five-year, $35 million deal, also named Adam Glessner as a team scout.

“I’m pleased to welcome Brendan Malone, Bob Beyer, Charles Klask and Adam Glessner to the Detroit Pistons organization,” said Van Gundy. “These gentlemen bring NBA experience and a wealth of basketball knowledge to our staff and they also understand the system and style of basketball we want to implement going forward.”
