With the 13th overall pick in the NBA Draft, the Miami HEAT select guard Tyler Herro of the University of Kentucky.

Herro came into this draft highly regarded for his shotmaking abilities. For a team like Miami, who doesn’t have a whole lot of options to go to with their salary cap situation, bringing him could give the team a little more pizzazz.

Tyler’s skllset reminded many scouts of Devin Booker because he can make shots at tough angles from various spots on the floor as well as his playmaking skills. What makes him subtly different from Booker is his nose for the boards – he averaged 4.5 rebounds a game – and his potential as a defender.

The HEAT have some interesting youth in Justise Winslow, Josh Richardson, and Bam Adebayo. Herro’s offensive abilities could help Miami elevate itself higher than it’s been since the good old days with LeBron James.
