7-footer Kirk of New Mexico declares for NBA Draft
Center Alex Kirk of New Mexico will pass up his senior season and declare for the NBA Draft, according to several media reports.
The 7-foot Kirk averaged 13.3 points and 8.7 rebounds last season for the Lobos (27-7), and had 32 points, 11 rebounds and five blocked shots in an 81-65 loss to Massachusetts in the Charleston Classic championship game in November.
Kirk, who struggled late in the season and scored in single figures in each of his last three games, is not included in many mock drafts, but is a legitimate 7-footer who can move outside and hit from the perimeter.
