The Boston Celtics have been linked to a number of point guards this season. First, it was Ty Lawson of the Denver Nuggets. Now, the team is reportedly preparing to pursue Goran Dragic of the Phoenix Suns.

Marc Stein of ESPN reports that the Celtics are very interested in Dragic and have the assets necessary to make a run at the veteran floor general.

Boston’s Danny Ainge and Phoenix’s Ryan McDonough also have a strong relationship since they used to work together. They’ve already completed one deal together this season.

Boston is reportedly willing to trade for Dragic without assurances that he would re-sign over the summer, believing that the fifth year and additional guaranteed money they could offer would be enough to keep him long-term. The Houston Rockets and Sacramento Kings may take the same approach.
