Bulls’ Hoiberg: Butler Predicted 40-Point Game

With Dwyane Wade resting in the second of back-to-back games, Jimmy Butler’s season-high 40 points led an all-around effort that pushed the Bulls to 3-1 on their six-game trip following an impressive 118-110 victory over the Lakers.
“He was attacking the basket all night long, making plays for his teammates,” (Bulls coach Fred) Hoiberg said. “We got him going early. With Dwyane out, obviously we’re going to play through Jimmy a lot. He was tired this morning. I give him credit for doing what he had to do to get himself ready. He told me before the game, ‘Coach, I’m going for 40 tonight.’ And he did it.”
