The entire (Bulls’) front office was pleased with (guard Derrick) Rose’s work this summer, even if it didn’t yield the numbers of his former self.

“He’ll be able to handle the contact, he’s just gotta get used to it again,” (head coach Tom) Thibodeau said on Saturday. “That’s why the USA basketball stuff was so important for him. The more he does it, the better it is for him. The more you’re starting to see the rust come off.”
