Celtics’ Thomas Won’t Travel on Upcoming Road Trip

Boston Celtics point guard Isaiah Thomas confirmed Tuesday that he won’t be traveling with the team on its upcoming road trip and said he remains unable to engage in even basic basketball activities because of swelling near his tailbone.
“I can’t really do any activity right now, but I’m just trying to get back,” Thomas said during a call to Boston sports radio WEEI. “[Trying to] get healthy enough so we can have a good stretch at the end of this year.”
“It is. But at the same time I have to do what’s best for myself,” he said. “I gotta do what’s best for myself and try to get as healthy as possible. All the best players want to go against the best players. So I’m upset I gotta miss this, but it’s for the sake of my health, and I gotta get healthy.”
