Los Angeles Clippers forward Blake Griffin faces a Dec. 8 arraignment in Las Vegas on a misdemeanor battery charge resulting from an altercation with a man at a nightclub in October.

Griffin is scheduled to appear at the Regional Justice Center in Las Vegas. He could face up to six months in jail and a $1,000 fine or community service if convicted.

The Clippers had no comment Wednesday on the charge.

Las Vegas police investigated the complaint and determined there was enough evidence to file the charge. According to police, the man said Griffin took his cellphone and slapped him after he took a picture on Oct. 19 at the Venetian resort.

The Clippers are scheduled to play the Phoenix Suns in Los Angeles on Dec. 8.

In seven games this season, Griffin is averaging 24.3 points, 6.9 rebounds and 3.6 assists.
