Doug McDermott, selected #11 by the Denver Nuggets, will be traded to the Chicago Bulls in exchange for the #16 and #19 picks. The Bulls save a little bit of money by drafting one guy rather than two (about $350,000 total), but he also makes Mike Dunleavy. Jr. expendable, and trading him would free up more space to pursue a marquee free agent this summer. McDermott had hoped to end up in Chicago after having spoken with Kyle Korver, and the Bulls, interestingly enough, were looking for a Korver-like offensive threat to help dig them out of the league’s offensive basement.
